BURGESS PREMIER SMALL ANIMAL SHOW

Nigel and I have just returned from the Burgess Premier Small Animal Show at Harrogate, the "Crufts" of the small animal world, where we were exhibiting. The show was a great success with a record number of show entries as well as all round family entertainment including the Rabbit Grand National .
It was great to have the opportunity to introduce our products to so many new customers and very gratifying to have people buying small bags on the first day of the show, trying it overnight, and liking it so much that they came back for larger bags the next day!
SmartBedz was running a free draw at the show with over £100 worth of prizes on offer. Congratulations to Jenny Bryan who was the very happy winner of the main prize, 2 x 10 kg bags of SmartBedz for her rabbits.

This independant review was in the "You Test" section of the January 2012 magazine, quote:
"The cats took to the litter well and when they were using the tray very few pellets came out and there was no tracking. The litter had good odour absorbing qualities, almost no smell at all and it was easy to remove the soiled litter. It lasted longer than our previous litter, eventually breaking down completely. It can then go in the compost, be dug in the garden or flushed away. A very good, odour free, eco-friendly litter."

BVNA CONGRESS - GREAT SHOW!!

Wow, what a great show! This was the first year that SmartBedz have exhibited at the BVNA Congress and our first foray into the Veterinary world. Having just been listed by National Veterinary Services who supply the veterinary market it was a great chance to introduce and demonstrate our products to this market. 
What a nice bunch of people and what a reception we received. At various times during the event Nigel and I were truly overwhelmed by shear numbers of visitors to the stand all interested to learn more and keen to enter our prize draw.
Our "Sniff Test" competition was designed to illustrate how various different litters perform when they had been used by some rather smelly pets for a while. Attracted by the cocktails that were being offered as prizes there were no shortage of takers and this proved to be a bit of a laugh as well as a good cure for the morning after the night before!
Well done to Ruth Tomlinson who was the winner of our prize draw and will be receiving a 10kg bag of Smartbedz Universal Bedding and Litter.

BVNA CONGRESS 7th-9th OCTOBER 2011

We are glad to announce that we will be exhibiting at the British Veterinary Nurses Congress taking place at Kettering Conference Centre between 7th and 9th October 2011. This is the largest veterinary congress in the UK with three days of lectures planned and large exhibition area. We look forward to meeting any visitors on Stand 017 where you will be warmly greeted and will have a chance to learn more about our products and our special show promotions.

Suffolk-based animal bedding manufacturer SmartBedz has appointed Ken MacKinnon to their sales team. Ken will be responsible for the sales of the SmartBedz in the North West, West Yorkshire and Lancashire and for the development of sales in the veterinary channel.
He brings to the company 14 years' experience in the cat litter market with Smartcat and Vets Choice Ltd.
Ken said of his new role; "I am delighted to take this opportunity. The market for environmentally friendly litter is growing and with it the demand for sustainable, consistent, high quality products that work. I believe SmartBedz is probably the only one on the market that ticks, not just some but, all of the boxes. My aim is to share that knowledge with the veterinary and pet trade in the area."

SMARTBEDZBEDZ AT PATS - Cracking good shows!
Mark, Jeremy and Nigel were showing off the features and benefits of our products to shop owners at the PAT shows in Sandown and Harrogate.
We were delighted by the response we got from owners visiting our stand. Everyone was really impressed with the demonstration of the absorbency of SmartBedz Universal Bedding and Litter and many placed transfer orders with us for supply through our rapidly expanding distributor network. The improved distribution network helps to improve availability to shops and hence to pet owners.
This was the first time we had exhibited in our own right and meant that we were much more recognisable than at previous shows and this was borne out by the number of visitors we had to the stand at both shows.
Simons Rodents, www.simonsrodents.co.uk, were exhibiting their range of pets for sale and they were littered at both shows on SmartBedz Universal Bedding and Litter. It was an ideal opportunity for us to show how well pets display on the litter, even after two whole days you could hardly see any droppings or soiled areas, and the odour eliminating properties were obvious.
We are looking forward to exhibiting at PATS again next year.

Suffolk-based animal bedding manufacturer SmartBedz has appointed Nigel Bateson to the role of Sales and Marketing Manager.
Nigel, who will be responsible for the brands range of eco-friendly straw pellets, joins the company after six years as Sales and Marketing Manager at My Pet Foods.
Speaking of his new role, Nigel said; ?I am really excited by my new role within the SmartBedz team. With the growing demand for environmentally friendly products, it is clear that this will be an interesting challenge, and I am looking forward to using my experience and expertise to help further develop the brand. One of the first steps we are taking is to exhibit at both PAT Shows and we look forward to seeing lots of people there?
